Rose S. Lee

Rose comes from a talented family in both music and art.  Nevertheless, while she was attending National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan, her parents influenced her to take a different academic field to study and she graduated from the University with a major in Psychology.  In 1962, Rose came to the United States to continue her studies with a  scholarship at the University of Oregon.  After receiving her Master's degree in Education, she taught at New York Christian Academy for a few years.

In 1973, Rose and her husband moved back to the West Coast and raised their three children.  In 1988, Rose decided to pursue her childhood dream and lifelong interest - creating art. Her art education has been acquired over many years of art courses in School of Art and Design, San Jose State University. Because of her wide interest in various art forms, it was hard for her to concentrate in just one or two art media.   Rose is truly a versatile artist of many media, including drawing, oil, watercolor, printmaking (serigraph and monotype), papermaking and ceramics.

Her work is shown in galleries, art exhibitions, as well as owned by private collectors. She has won many awards especially in the media of papermaking and monotypes.

In addition to creating art, Rose loves to work with children in helping them to develop their creative and aesthetic growth.  She has taught children's art classes for over 15 years.
